Challenges: Sunday Sketch&Stamp, Color Chef

For this card i used a vintage image, sanded the ends and mounted on green paper.
The backgroud was music paper mounted on black.
I then used green ribbon, cream lace and a little black paper.
The sentiment was from my stash.
I wanted to stamp on the green ribbon, but was not sure which ink i should use.
Whenever in doubt, i try Archival ... what you see here, is the result.

1. Sunday Sketch & Scrap - sketch
2. Color Chef - black, cream, green

Julina's page...

My daughter (8) made this page herself. I printed the photos and she asked me to go there "where she can see how to make a page" (i.e. Pagemaps). There she picked a sample she liked and tried to copy it. Although i help her in the way of choosing colours (the page is actually going into her real album), she does everything herself.

Now that I'm looking at the page, it actually fits two challeges:

1. Your next stamp - spring colours
2. Sew many layouts - anything goes

Netball ...

Photos from my daughter's O.7 netball team, as well as her one friend, and loyal supporter (in the middle circle :-)

I cut circles out of 3 photos to use on the righthand side of the layout. Mounted all photos on plain cardstock and stuck a dotty piece in the middle of the page. Ribbon was folded and stapled on the right and the date was done with my Dymo.

This page fits two challenges:

1. Create 4 fun - sketch
2. Cute Card Thursday - ribbon

Challenge: Papertake weekly

This was one of those "real" challenges for me ... the photos is about a year old and i never knew what to do or how to use it. Papertake Weekly's challenge gave me this idea. The only paper i used, is the 3 strips on the cardstok. I distressed all the photos, and stamped a corner and wording. Three button-ribbon-flowers finished the layout.

Toothfairy ...

When I started this page, it was only to finish the toothfairy-photo. Then my eldest daughter wanted to know where she can find scrap-challenges to take part in. While i was searching the blogs, i came across a few challenges which i normally do for cards. And when this page was finished, i was stunned to see how many (card)challenges the page fits.

1. Cute Card Thursday - metal (the pin that "holds" the tag)
2. 1 Stop craft challenge - wall hanging (this will go to her wall for sure)
3. Allsorts - tag (for journaling)
4. Scrap & stamp - digital (got the "R10" from google)

The background was already patterned with toothfairy stuff, so i built the layout around it. I put a rhinestone star on the fairie's wand, had 2 confetti fairies do some R10 magic and stamped wings on the largest tooth on the page.

1st day at school

Who can believe it ... it's already one year later!

I had a lot of photos, so i basically just glued them to the background. On the first layout i added her nametag she wore the first week as well as a cutout from our local newspaper.
On the second page i added the letter her grandma wrote to wish her good luck.

Long overdue ...

I've been spending so much time on cardmaking, that I totally neglected my scrapbooking. Though difficult, i decided to spend today scrapbooking and TRYING to overlook all the cardmaking challenges.

These photos have been lying in the album since Jan.2009 and last night i started on them. I used kraft cardstock and added a light shade of peach pattern paper and a turquoise strip. The flowers matched the strip and i accentuated them with a little piece of ribbon on the top photo. I then added a little wording and a stamp here and there.

Challenges: Pollycraft, Sophisticat

1. Pollycraft - double up
2. Sophisticat - tartan

For this card, i used three images (the house and 2 different fairies). I stamped them on linen cardstock and coloured with my Derwent's. I then cut and pasted them on the card. To qualify for Sophisticat's challenge, i added a tartan frame. Little butterflies, a sentiment and glitter on the fairie's wings, finished the card.

Challenges: Allsorts, Cupcake, Crafty Angels

1. Allsorts - 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 flowers
2. Cupcake - keep it simple
3. Crafty angels - fantastic flowers

For this card i used kraft cardstock with part of a white circle on it. I needed a vase for the flowers, so i stamped only part of my one stamp to cut out the vase. I then coloured the vase and lifted it with thick double sided tape. Glued the flowers and half rounds and picked a piece of ribbon to match. Finished it of with a sentiment stamp.

Challenge: Scrap & Stamp

My take on Scrap & Stamp's Challenge for this week.

As I haven't got a big enough stencil that looks like the paper in the background, i had to draw different ones till i got one that was the right size. I distressed the photos and used a flower strip at the end. I then stamped the journaling block, but decided to use an old saying in stead of writing something there. Buttons, a flower and butterflies rounds of the page.

Challenges: stamp something, Crazy 4 challenges

1. Stamp something - something cute
2. Crazy 4 challenges - red

Cariena asked that in stead of just naming the challenges, I explained what I did. I've got no idea how to do this, as some of my stash are so old, i can't remember from when and where. I also use a lot of different things etc. pictures, stickers - where as most bloggers use stamps. But I will give it a try ... for now.

I used an oval frame and mounted a "curtain" and "window-sill" at the back. I then stamp the cat with a Great Impressions stamp and coloured it with my Derwent watercolour pencils. I used a piece of thick doublesided foam tape to "lift" the cat in die window-sill. Finished it off with an eyelet in each corner.

This week Secret crafter challenged us to use a different fold as usual. I folded the card different and then cut off one corner on each side.
